God Keep Our Land, Glorious and Free

Righteousness exalts a nation . . .

. . .  but sin is a reproach to any people.  Proverbs 14:34

The Canadian Snowbirds Demonstration Team - 431 Squadron

"I will make you a great nation, I will bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing." Genesis 12:2

He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.  Psalm 72:8

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD . . .

. . . and the people whom He has chosen as His own inheritance.  Psalm 33:12

"In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.  But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him."  Acts 10:34b,35

In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life . . . and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.  Revelation 22:2

"Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight.  And consider that this nation is Your people."  Exodus 33:13

Remember me, O LORD, with the favour You have towards Your people; oh visit me with Your salvation.  That I may see the benefit of Your chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation, that I may glory with Your inheritance.
Psalm 106:4,5

"For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the LORD our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him?  And what great nation is there that has such statutes and righteous judgments as are in all this law, which I set before you this day?  Only take heed to yourself and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life.  And teach them to your children and your grandchildren . . . Deuteronomy 4:7-9

Listen to Me, My people; and give ear to Me, O My nation;  for law will proceed from Me, and I will make My justice rest as a light of the peoples.  My righteousness is near, my salvation has gone forth and My arms will judge the peoples, the coastlands will wait upon Me and on My arm they will trust.  Isaiah 51:4,5

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light, who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.  1Peter 2:9,10

And they sang a new song, saying:

 "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals;
For You were slain and have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation
And have made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth."
Revelation 5:9,10

HIs name shall endure forever;  His name shall continue as long as the sun;  and men shall be blessed in Him;  all nations shall call Him blessed.  Blessed be the LORD  God, the God of Israel, Who only does wondrous things! And blessed be His glorious name forever!  And let the whole earth be filled with His glory, Amen and Amen.
Psalm 72:17-19

Fret Not

Therefore I say unto you, do not worry about your life . . .

. . . what you will eat or what you will drink . . .

. . . nor about your body, what you will put on.

Is not life more than food . . .

. . . and the body more than clothing?

Look at the birds of the air . . .

. . .  for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns . . .

. . . yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than they?
 Matthew 6:25,26

Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God.  But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Do not fear therefore, you are of more value than many sparrows.  Luke 12: 6,7

Therefore do not worry, saying, "What shall we eat?" or "What shall we drink?" or "What shall we wear?"  For after all these things the Gentiles seek.  For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.  Matthew 6:31-34

Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness.  Delight yourself also, in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart . . . Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.  Cease from anger , and forsake wrath; do not fret - it only leads to harm . . .  I have been young and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.  Psalm 37:3,4,7,8,25

Therefore, humble yourselves under the might hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you.  1 Peter 5:6,7

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus . . . And my God will supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.  Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen  Philippians 4:6,7,19,20

Open and Shut

The stranger did not lodge in the street . . .

. . . but I opened my door to the traveler.  Job 31:32

Come, my people, enter your chambers and shut your doors behind you . . .

. . . hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, until the indignation is past.
 Isaiah 26:20

The two doors were of olive wood; and he carved on them figures of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers and overlaid them with gold . . . 1 Kings 6:32

Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.
Psalm 141:3

"But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly."  Matthew 6:6

Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty.
The LORD mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And lift them up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts,
He is the King of glory.  Selah.
Psalm 24:7-10

Does not wisdom cry out, and understanding lift up her voice?  She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, beside the way where the paths meet.  She cries out by the gates at the entry of the city, at the entrance of the doors . . . Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.  For whoever finds me, finds life and obtains favour from the LORD.  Proverbs 8;1,2,34,35

My beloved put his hand by the latch of the door and my heart yearned for him.  I arose to open for my beloved, and my hands dripped with myrrh, my fingers with liquid myrrh, on the handles of the lock.  I opened for my beloved, but my beloved had turned away and was gone . . . Song of Solomon 5:4-6a

"I am the door.  If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.  The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.  John 10:9,10

And when they had come and gathered the church together, they reported all that God had done with them, and that He had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.  Acts 14:27

But  I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentacost.  For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.  1 Corintians 16:8.9

Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.  Colossians 4:3,4

And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, "These things says He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens. I know your works.  See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name." Revelation 3:7,8

Behold, I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.  Revelation 3:20

After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven; and the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, "Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this."  Revelation 4:1

A Thirsty Soul

O God, you are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You . . .

. . . my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.  Psalm 63:1
As cold water to a thirsty soul  . . .

. . .  so is good news from a far country.
 Proverbs 25:25

For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness . . .

. . . and streams in the desert . . .

The parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land, springs of water.
Isaiah 35:6b,7a

They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way, they found no city to dwell in.  Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.  Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble and He delivered them out of their distressess.  Psalm 107:4,5

You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them and did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst.  Nehemiah 9:20

I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands.  I spread out my hands to You; my soul longs for You like a thirsty land. Selah.  Psalm 143:6

When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongues fail for thirst, I, the LORD, will hear them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.  I will open rivers in desolate heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys.  I will make the wilderness a pool of water and the dry land springs of water.  Isaiah 41:17,18

Ho!  Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come buy and eat.  Yes, come, buy wine and milk, without money and without price.  Isaiah 55:1

Jesus answered and said unto her, "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst.  But the water that I  shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." The woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw."  John 4:13-15

And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life.  He who comes to me shall never hunger and he who believes in me shall never thirst.  John 6:35

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.  He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."  John 7:37,38

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.  Matthew 5:6
